Highlights from the 3rd TWIN-RELECT Workshop on Research Management and Administration
On January 13, 2026, the TWIN-RELECT consortium gathered at the University of Manchester for a specialized workshop dedicated to the operational and strategic pillars of successful research: Management and Administration. The 3rd TWIN-RELECT Workshop on Research Management and Administration, part of a series of workshops on managing research, focused on bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and practical commercial implementation.
This one-day event focused on equipping partners with the skills to navigate the entire research lifecycle, from securing funding to commercializing results.
- Supporting Researchers: The morning began with Sarah Chatwin and Clare Liggins (University of Manchester) detailing the university's comprehensive research support services and best practices in Research Data Management.
- Communication & Impact: Chris Jordan (Global Development Institute) led a vital session on Research Communications, exploring how to maximize impact and the emerging role of AI in disseminating scientific work.
- From Lab to : In the afternoon, the Invention Discovery Team from the University of Manchester’s Innovation Factory demystified the commercialization process, explaining how research translates into real-world innovation.
- Future Collaboration: The day concluded with Marko Andjelkovic (IHP) providing an overview of European calls for collaborative projects, followed by a round table discussion to strategize future joint proposals.
