The TWIN-RELECT project is pleased to announce two consecutive events taking place at the University of Manchester this January. These events bring together partners from the University of Thessaly (Greece), IHP - Institute for Innovative Microelectronics (Germany), CNRS (France), and the University of Manchester (United Kingdom) for knowledge exchange, technical training, and collaborative networking.

This one-day workshop addresses the full research lifecycle, from project conception to commercialization and impact. The program includes:

  • Research Data Management best practices
  • Research Communications, Impact and the Role of AI
  • Research Commercialization: From research to market at Manchester Innovation Factory
  • European Calls for Collaborative Research Projects: An overview of funding opportunities

3rd Training School on Fault-Tolerant AI Systems

Wednesday, January 14 – Friday, January 16, 2026
Atlas Room & IT407, Kilburn Building, Department of Computer Science

This three-day intensive training school focuses on reliable electronic design and neuromorphic computing, featuring a comprehensive technical program:

Day 1 (January 14): Reliable Electronic Design

  • Keynote: Neutron beams for irradiation applications (STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory)
  • Design and validation of chips for space applications
  • Experimental and formal techniques for fault analysis
  • AI verification and reliability of AI accelerators
  • Hands-on: Fault simulation with EMBER

Day 2 (January 15): Neuromorphic Computing

  • Tutorial talks on tools for Spiking Neural Networks and neuromorphic hardware platforms
  • Guided visit to the SpiNNaker machine
  • Lunchtime Keynote: Safe and reliable neuromorphic computing (Sorbonne Université, CNRS)
  • Cross-layer analysis of permanent faults in asynchronous Networks-on-Chip
  • Hands-on: SNN training with snnTorch and hardware fault co-simulation
  • Social Event: Dinner at Zouk Tea Bar

Day 3 (January 16): Technical and Collaborative Skills

  • Keynote: SpiNNaker - Technology and project leadership (University of Manchester)
  • Full-day collaboration and team skills workshop
