Highlights From the 2nd Research Management & Administration Workshop

Excited to share some highlights from the 2nd Research Management & Administration Workshop by TWINRELECT, held in Volos, Greece, on July 23–25, 2025!

Highlights

This three-day event brought together experts passionate about advancing research leadership and fostering European collaboration.
Key sessions featured:

  • Cross-Disciplinary Research – Prof. Davide Bertozzi (The University of Manchester) discussed innovation through interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Simulation-based and analytical techniques
  • Funding Opportunities & Proposal Development – Dr. Ekaterina Mamontova (CNRS) guided participants through identifying calls, preparing proposals, and executing projects, with a focus on Horizon Europe.
  • Proposal Development & Project Management – Dr. George Floros (Trinity College Dublin) discussed key aspects of managing Horizon Europe research projects.
  • Overview of European Research Calls – Dr. Marko Andjelkovic (IHP) provided a comprehensive look at collaborative funding opportunities.
  • Space Applications – Dr. Thomas Borel (European Space Agency - ESA) presented on radiation hardness assurance for reliable space projects.

The workshop fostered strategic networking among institutions, including the University of Thessaly, IHP (Germany), CNRS, University of Montpellier (France), and The University of Manchester (UK), paving the way for future collaborations.
